Been a while since I last popped something on the blog!

Well this dropped onto the mat this week and absoloutly destroyed any competition for Tune Of The Year (although recorded in 1968), so had to be posted.

The Webs hail from Galveston, Texas and were active during the sixties releasing numerous singles, one of which ‘Give In’ had this weighty beast on the B side. The A Side is a bit reminiscent of ‘Hey Joyce’ without really reaching the energy levels of that jam, but the B side is a monster festuring a big dusty drum break with a bass guitar, organ, guitar embellishments and a falsetto vocal. I’ll have more of that please.

My only issue is that i’ve not yet found the tunes to complement it in the mix, it’s far too slow for other bits which have this sound, still i’ve been listening on repeat since arrival. It just gets better and better.
