I’m just someone’s dad who has been steadily collecting a pile of records since the mid-nineties. I’ve been busy playing lots of those records in that time too, alongside promoting and managing gigs – not quite up to 2,000 yet and still holding down a 9-5 (ish – more on that in a bit). If you’ve been out of an evening in Newbury, then you may well have seen me coyly standing behind some turntables in one of the pubs or clubs, playing some random jazz tune / any jungle guy? / Run DMC / etc – as I’ve bowled into virtually all of them at one point or another spinning every conceivable type of music from fresh Serial Killaz dubs to this.
I’ve had some excellent jobs in the past including an 11 year stint as half the Accounts dept. at the record distribution outfit; Nu Urban Music, and an 8 day intensive period of selling vacuum cleaners which was definitely a low point. I am now immersed in the world of web development, click the link below to get to the website for that service, Newbury New Media.
A monthly show on the local community station Kennet Radio, (3rd Saturday of each month 8pm-10pm), online shows (mixlr) and gigs in town keep me busy these days, check out the Events listings to see whats going on.
